Important Facts about "R" Ski-Pools-Golf & Water Sports
      More than 25 years ago a new idea was started in Ohio's eastern tri county area.  That idea was the heavy discounting of skis, equipment and clothing.  In October of 1983 "R" Ski Ranch, Inc. was started in a small 750 sq ft. room in Austintown, OH.  They were the valleys seventh ski retailer at that time.
        It did not take long for the skiing public to accept this new pricing of ski equipment and gear.  Prior to their opening most area retailers would sell ski gear at suggested retail and then provide small discounts to their customers at the end of ski season.  With the opening of "R" Ski and their marketing of the ski discounts, several retailers started to sell out or close.  They saw the coming of a new concept and felt they did not want to compete against the discount concept.
      
     With growth under way "R" Ski expended to a larger show room in 1985, 1987, and in 1989.  Pool chemicals, pool products, pumps and motors were added.  In 1994 "R" Ski moved to their present facility of more then 5,000 sq. ft and added golf equipment, balls, and golf accessories.  2006 brought the addition of water sports featuring water skis, wake boards, towables, and boat supplies and accessories.
     
     Yes, there were changes to the ski industry along the way.  From rear entry boots to snowboards, the ski industry became the snow industry appealing to numerous people of all sizes and ages.  But, tet "R" Ski remained stead fast in their commitment to give the area's customers the best price they could find.  Ski and Snowboard equipment is always priced at 20 to 40% off suggested retail pricing.  In fact, the pricing caused several retailers to close leaving "R" Ski as the only ski retailer in Mahoning, and Columbiana County.
      
     The owners of "R" Ski-Pools-Golf and Water Sports' main goal is the same as it was in 1983.  The goal for Great pricing, fast, competent, intelligent, unparalleled service with honest answers to customers questions.  Also to maintain the valley's largest inventory of snow sports quipment and clothing.  No shop has ever done that before and our competition still fears that policy.  "R" Ski knows what their customers want.
